Beauty Tip of the Day #17

Give your lipstick a matte metallic look by dabbing on a little gold eyeshadow on your lips. Apply just to the centre of lips for a plumping and 3D effect.

Beauty Tip of the Day #16

Avoid a glitter bomb mess and flyaway when applying loose glitter to your eyes.  Take some clear mascara on the back of your hand/palette and mix with the glitter.  Then use the mixture of clear mascara and glitter with a synthetic flat brush and apply to the eye.  It sticks to the eye really easily and you don't have problems with fallout and having glitter transfer to the crease, lower lashline or anywhere else you do not want it to go!

Beauty Tip of the Day #15

If you don't want to spend a mini fortune on many mascaras but want different effects on your lashes, try this tip.

Get disposable mascara wands in a variety of shapes and sizes and use these to apply your single mascara. The difference in brushes will give you a different looking result each time!

Beauty Tip of the Day #12

If you have a cheap eye kohl pencil in your makeup collection which you never use because its too hard, scratchy and has no color pay-off, here's a great tip!

Get a lighter and quickly just put the lead of your eye pencil in and out the flame.  Don't hold it in it for seconds, just straight in and out the lighter flame.

This will make your eye kohl beautifully smooth to apply, great color pay-off and also removes the bacteria from the pencil - RESULT! :)

Beauty Tip of the Day #11

If you are confused about what color of eyeshadow will suit you - do a look with brown eyeshadows!

Neutral, earthy tone shades suit all eye colors!

Beauty Tip of the Day #10

When blending eyeshadows, use a totally clean crease/blending brush.  If you use a brush which already has eyeshadow, the blending will be muddy and it will do more smudging than blending.

Using a clean brush to blend will make it easier to belnd and give you a beautiful professional finish.

Beauty Tip of the Day #9

When doing bright colored eyeshadow looks, add just a tiny bit of a warm mid-toned brown eyeshadow or your matt bronzer, lightly into your crease, so the brown peeps through the color a little.

This warms up the look and makes brights more wearable as it ties in the look together

Beauty Tip of the Day #8

When contouring your cheekbones with a powder, use a slightly pointed brush or a dense brush like the MAC 109 and start from next to the ear going down the cheekbone.  Go in small circular motions, avoiding a straight line down your face.  The circular motions, will blend the contour powder in to look like an actual shadow and give you definition rather than just a stripe!

face, contour, bronzer, stripe, bad, definition, shape

Also, less is more, start with a little product and gradually add more if needed.  Always better than using too much and then struggling to blend it out...

Beauty Tip of the Day #7

beauty tips blog If you have really dry skin, spritz your face with 100% pure rose water and apply a few drops of glycerin to your face, mixing it in with the rose water.

Doing this before bed-time and sleeping in it overnight will help moisture the skin.. Glycerin is normally the second ingredient after aqua/water in every moisturizer!

Beauty Tip of the Day #6

beauty tips blog brushes Instead of spending money on specified  eyeliner brushes, buy a fine/precision brush from your local Art shop instead. They are a 10th of the price and do the job in exactly the same way and made from real hairs/synthetic also, depending on your preference.

I have MAC, Sigma, Coastal Scents and Benefit eyeliner brushes yet I always reach for one of my fine art brushes as I love how thin they are! They are literally the same brushes but  labeling  one for the use of make-up means we are charged a fortune for them. My eyeliner brush from MAC cost £16 and my brush from the art store was under £2.50!!

Beauty Tip of the Day #4

beauty tips blog highlight highlighter Do not apply shimmery highlighter to the inner cheeks of your face. They normally have larger pores and these will be emphasised even more with the highlighter. This is because the light will hit on them making pores appear larger and more apparent.

Beauty Tip of the Day #3

When applying face powder after foundation/concealer use a powder puff and press the powder into the skin. Do not brush powder on the skin as the brush will shift and move your unset foundation/concealer.

Beauty Tip of the Day #1

Make any satin/glossy lipstick matte, preventing bleeding around the edges and last sooo much longer. Apply the first layer and blot lips with a 1 ply/thin tissue.

Then apply a second coat. Place a 1 ply/thin tissue on top of the lips and press/brush some loose face powder on top of the tissue on lips.
