Beauty Tip of the Day #12

If you have a cheap eye kohl pencil in your makeup collection which you never use because its too hard, scratchy and has no color pay-off, here's a great tip!

Get a lighter and quickly just put the lead of your eye pencil in and out the flame.  Don't hold it in it for seconds, just straight in and out the lighter flame.

This will make your eye kohl beautifully smooth to apply, great color pay-off and also removes the bacteria from the pencil - RESULT! :)

Beauty Tip of the Day #11

If you are confused about what color of eyeshadow will suit you - do a look with brown eyeshadows!

Neutral, earthy tone shades suit all eye colors!

MAC Club Eyeshadow

I have had a few emails about how to use Club eyeshadow.  It is a duo-chrome shadow which catches the light giving off several colors, making it a little confusing for some - here's a look I did using this unique shade...

Beauty Tip of the Day #10

When blending eyeshadows, use a totally clean crease/blending brush.  If you use a brush which already has eyeshadow, the blending will be muddy and it will do more smudging than blending.

Using a clean brush to blend will make it easier to belnd and give you a beautiful professional finish.

Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover - Review

clarins, eye, makeup, make-up, review, eye make-up remover, instant, blog
Having sensitive eyes means I am always on the look out for an eye makeup remover that will remove all traces of eye makeup without irritating my eyes.
Clarins Instant Eye Make-Up Remover is the priciest eye make-up remover I have tried.

Red Hot Lips!

Finding the perfect red lipstick can be a bit daunting as reds can be scary enough to wear as it is for some of us so finding the red for you = half the battle won!

I've picked out a selection of red lipsticks of a variety of tones to help you find the one for you...

Beauty Tip of the Day #9

When doing bright colored eyeshadow looks, add just a tiny bit of a warm mid-toned brown eyeshadow or your matt bronzer, lightly into your crease, so the brown peeps through the color a little.

This warms up the look and makes brights more wearable as it ties in the look together

Beauty Tip of the Day #8

When contouring your cheekbones with a powder, use a slightly pointed brush or a dense brush like the MAC 109 and start from next to the ear going down the cheekbone.  Go in small circular motions, avoiding a straight line down your face.  The circular motions, will blend the contour powder in to look like an actual shadow and give you definition rather than just a stripe!

Also, less is more, start with a little product and gradually add more if needed.  Always better than using too much and then struggling to blend it out...

Marks & Spencer - Limited Collection - Bronzer Review

marks and spencer, m&s, limited collection, bronzer, review, swatch, dark, light, matte, contour, blog, beauty, makeup

I absolutely LOVE to contour and feel it truely lifts and accentuates the shape of your face.  So, I am always on the lookout for contour powders.  Drugstores still need to catch on with the matte contour powder/bronzer concept as apart from Sleek Face Contour Kit all seem to have shimmer in them!

Shimmer does not contour as the glitter in it does anything but create a shadow. Marks & Spencer have a bronzer which is matte in their Limited Collection which I snapped up to try.

Embryolisse Baume Riche - Review

Dry, irritated and sensitive skin is one of the worst things for me personally as I feel its something that makeup can not even cover sufficiently and sets back from receiving that flawless finish.

Recent problems with my skin left me searching for a moisturiser that would cut it and would revert my skin back to hydration!

I finally decided to go with the Embryolisse Baume Riche

Illamasqua Skin Base Foundation - 01 - Review

illamasqua, skin base, foundation, review, blog, white, 01, makeup, make up, beauty
We all have that foundation or two that are lurking in our makeup collection which we love the formula of but the colour is too dark and not flattering at all. I have tried many over time and have quite a few which were a waste of money as I couldnt wear them without looking orange like an Oompa Loompa!

So, I decided to invest in the Illamasqua Skin Base in the lightest White shade, 01 and all my problems were solved! :)

A pink and purple eye for the daring ones out there ;)

I used a Sleek Makeup Purple eyeshadow which was IMPOSSIBLE to blend *soo not happy** so plz excuse the imperfect blending at the inner corner of eye.  Still decided to post it though since I spent time doing it, lol....

Overlook the blending and enjoy the look - it was the eyeshadow's fault,  honest ;)

Marks & Spencers - Limited Collection - Blush Review

The Marks & Spencers Limited Collection is really popular just now and buzzed about on beauty forums and blogs because of the ever famous Pixiwoo talking highly of it.

So I went along to my local M&S and picked up items from the collection. I am happy with everything I bought They have great eyeshadows, lipsticks, lip glosses and bronzer. However, for me anyway this collections biggest downfall is their powder blush.

I love purple lippies and think they make such a great change from the typical red and hot pinks to have a statement bold lip...

Here's my top fav purple lipsticks - some are limited edition but I've still included them as MAC tends to repromote often.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow - Review

Turquoise forever, permanent tape. on and on bronze, Maybelline Color Tatoo Review Eyeshadow, Blog MAC makeup beauty

I have had these for a few months now and tested throughly.  These are the very much sought after Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadows.  These are very popular and sold out a lot in stores regularly.  Main reason for this being how they are compared to MAC Paint Pots and they actually live up to this claim!

I have three of the colors:  Permanent Taupe, On and On Bronze and Turquoise Forever.

Sleek Honour Blush Review - 2012 Collection

I love Sleek's powder blushes.  They are of amazing quality and applauded by many top makeup artists for their formula, color selection, smooth application and longevity.  Easily the best blush formula available in high street makeup brands.

In order to mark the 2012 Olympic Games Sleek has just released a brand new collection consisting of an eyeshadow pallette, a pout polish and this blush - Honour.

Job of the Day!

Right, I have been out searching the high street high and low for affordable makeup products good enough to challenge their superior alternatives, lol..

I picked up a number of things (including Sleek new 2012 collection) but the top 3 that made it above others and all of which I'm really impressed with are:

Black n Brown

A gorgeous eye look to wear for those dramatic night looks. Amazing with a warm toned blush and nude lips.

False lashes will dramatize the look a LOT more :)

Three Toned Gold n Bronze Eye

This is a similar look to my very first eyeshadow post. However, I was requested this by a subscriber - a golden bronzey eye with 3 tones merging and blended together. So here goes... Plz excuse the lashes, the glue was still wet and I was on a mission to take good pics before sunset, lol...

Beauty Tip of the Day #8

Despite contrary belief that it is glossy lips only that can do this, a Matte lipstick in a colour which is not too dark can make your lips look fuller too.

MAC Nude Lipsticks

mac nude lipstick swatches We all love nude lippies and they can be so confusing, all looking the same half the time when out there to shop for one. I have taken a selection of my favorite beige/pink nude lippies and swatched them along with a few comments  to help your hunt for that perfect nude lip! I have swatched each lipstick on my bare lips, with no lip liner or anything else, so you can see the true colour of the lipstick.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks...

I love my highlighters - being somebody who likes to shape and contour my face for extra definition a lovely glowing highlighter is vital. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks are probably the most well known item from this cosmetic brand. They have a division of opinion, with some loving them and others finding them waaayy too metallic looking. Personally I love them! I have 8 in total and would definitely buy more to come in the future...

Here I will swatch three I have from the permanent line and review them just for you :)

Beauty Tip of the Day #7

beauty tips blog If you have really dry skin, spritz your face with 100% pure rose water and apply a few drops of glycerin to your face, mixing it in with the rose water.

Doing this before bed-time and sleeping in it overnight will help moisture the skin.. Glycerin is normally the second ingredient after aqua/water in every moisturizer!

Beauty Tip of the Day #6

beauty tips blog brushes Instead of spending money on specified  eyeliner brushes, buy a fine/precision brush from your local Art shop instead. They are a 10th of the price and do the job in exactly the same way and made from real hairs/synthetic also, depending on your preference.

I have MAC, Sigma, Coastal Scents and Benefit eyeliner brushes yet I always reach for one of my fine art brushes as I love how thin they are! They are literally the same brushes but  labeling  one for the use of make-up means we are charged a fortune for them. My eyeliner brush from MAC cost £16 and my brush from the art store was under £2.50!!

I found this fun to do! Looks interesting too and a nice change from a plain one coloured lip. Even though its more of an  editorial  type of look I'm sure some of you would try this out.

Took pics in various lights to get the best result of different colours.

Beauty Tip of the Day #4

beauty tips blog highlight highlighter Do not apply shimmery highlighter to the inner cheeks of your face. They normally have larger pores and these will be emphasised even more with the highlighter. This is because the light will hit on them making pores appear larger and more apparent.
